Overall I’m happy with my Maya scene “Fort Aegir” I feel as
the style and themes portray the same as those in the film of how to train your
dragon, I considered the colours, style, items, architecture, flora and history. I interpreted
this style by creating my own scene for the movie which involves the students
going on a outdoor education trip where they stay the night at a local fort
which is known for its dragon sightings. I created the castle out of the same
rock as the arena and used all the similar architecture of the Vikings but devolved
it slightly as this building was built by the first settlers. There are remains
from deadly dragon battles scattered throughout the environment to give it a
living sense. I opened the scene similar to the very first with the cross ocean
shot zooming into Berk and chose similar pan techniques of the film. My music
is appropriate as I thought the time of day and mood I portrayed is quite still
and quiet so I kept it with the “This Is Berk” track from the OST which has a
soothing quiet start which is easily recognisably from the movie.

Error
I came across an error when rendering i would click on the first frame my castle would freakout warp back to the original castle i had created in maya. i had not played with the keyframes yet so i found this quite confusing i tried exporting and importing the castle on the frame 1 but it still warped and moved across the map. i then decided to delete all the history attached to the castle and it then had fixed it despite the loss of history.
WUT?

I had to create a bg due to the physical sky playing up when i rendered. i tried everything connecting up all the cameras and playing around with the settings but it would not budge so i had to make a final call and add this in .
Rendering and Bump mapping
I used spherical mapping on the outside pillars and planar mapping on the tops of the pillars as they looked the best.
i used planar mapping on the castle as its boxy
